Savory Raspberry Salad

Hello Neighbors!

In my part of the world the raspberries are in harvest - oh what a beautiful day! Nature's rubies. Raspberries are a great source of Vitamin C, fiber, and pectin that is known to lower cholesterol. Best eaten right out there in the raspberry patch as they are picked, raspberries are a summertime favorite of mine. Raspberries and blackberries are odd little sweets: soft, furry, hollow when picked, each little berry-cell contains a small seed. New surgical weight loss patients should pass on fresh raspberries to avoid lodging a seed in their new pouch or the incisions that created it. About a year after surgery it is safe to test berries for your tolerance, following, of course, the guidelines provided by your surgical center.

If you have an abundance of raspberries give this Savory Berry Salad a try. Add a piece of grilled chicken or grilled fish for a complete nutritious and delicious meal. Enjoy!

Mmmm, I love raspberries. They're one of my favorite fruits. The taste and texture are both so wonderful. The best ones I ever tasted were picked right off the bush and they did not make it to the bucket! The flavor was wonderfully complex and to be savored.
