One of our special community members Beth Dunn brought my attention to a terrific website. Beth writes, “My local newspaper (the New York Daily News) did an article about a wonderful website. It's called OR-Live. It contains a library of more than 200 surgeries done at hospitals throughout the US. Their archives contain 5 different examples of Roux-en-Y gastric bypasses, and I've watched nearly all of them. Each webcast takes one hour and includes a sort of "play by play" discussion that explains what's going on and answers questions. Check it out!”
This is a great resource, particularly for pre-op patients wishing to learn more about the procedure of gastric bypass or lap-banding. There are also online forums that address several questions regarding weight loss surgery.
By the way, Beth is having her surgery on Tuesday October 4th. Please join me in wishing her success and a speedy recovery as she begins her new life. Thanks Beth for sharing the OR-Live resource with us.
